Is this perchance ANOTHER origin story of Dee Mentia? I have more of those than the Joker!
Made this caption for Lacy aka Lacysliplover about a week ago I think .. whoops 2 weeks ago. I've been in a weird mood lately. Not quite in a depressive state, but more like general apathy towards anything in general.
Anyway, I am not sure that my premise actually showed up as well as I liked, in that Dee was wishing to literally bring into play the whole, "dress for the job you want," meme or way of thinking that if you are dressed for success, it's more likely to come your way.
So, the reason that Ron became Lacy is exactly that, and why Dee became a w!tch, as she was wearing a costume. Ron's costume was, of course, the outfit he was wearing while cr0ss-dressing. I shortened that part up to "me time" so that Ron wouldn't expose his bit in the whole "I'm now a woman!" switch to what he looked like now to the librarian (or a family member more likely) and so that I wouldn't run the plot into the ground by overexplaining it.
And yet, I probably should have elaborated a tiny bit more. In a way, it makes it seem like Dee *IS* already a w!tch or a wizard when it's written the way I created it. My intention was the the wish was somehow granted in some other way .. honestly I didn't really know how, but it didn't matter in my mind .. and it just impacted both Dee and Ron, the people inside the house when the wish was made.
And why not reference a book that had a TV movie based off of it, which starred Tim Curry in the mid 80's along with Fairuza Balk, that possibly inspired Rowling to make Potter 20 years later? Yes, it was a horrible film with rotten special effects, but TIM CURRY!?! I just had to add that reference for my own enjoyment.
My question is, did you GET that plot point that I just explained .. before I gave you the reasoning behind it? Please do let me know either way. If you didn't, I don't blame you at all, and if you did, I'm happy that you saw it the way I intended it to be read.
I have no idea why this post was tagged for sensitive viewing. I wondered if it had to do with the word "W!tch" which definitely seems weird to do, as it could make anything to do with Halloween problematic. Anyway!
