The Magical Christmas Angel! Happy Christmas Eve!

150 percent less depressing story than the song, "Christmas Shoes" .. guaranteed!

Well, I made this one back early in December as I had the photo stored on my hard drive from a year or two back, and hadn't really come up with anything. Originally, I had a vague "Blue Christmas" from Elvis feel to the picture, but it had stumped me .. until I forced myself to at least put it in a caption setting. At the very least, I would put it out there as a DIY Challenge, and if inspired, I could whip something up as filler.

Yeah, then I started writing .. and it seemed to get more inspired. I wanted to create a "Christmas Shoes - Haven edition" but without sounding trite and cloying.

The first verse hits home for me, because I know a person (you might too) who has those thoughts, and its a shitty time of year for her .. thrown out of the house and homeless when she was 19 for the crime of wanting to be female. She lives a fairly normal life now but the scars run deep .. she 'lives' as a female, but still has certain parts she wishes would never have to see again .. and is at that age now where seeing children makes her smile but also makes her sad because she would love to be a mother. Its even worse when she hears about children being abused, and how its not fair that they have the ability to produce offspring and neglect their kids when she would have so much love but cannot.

The second paragraph deals with the Christmas Angels program that helps kids get toys for Christmas, toys that they actually WANT. We've done it every year since my daughter was born through age 13, and since then have alternated between children and senior citizens living in nursing homes. As adults, we can go without, but children should NEVER be denied at least some sort of fun distraction, and the Christmas Angels program has been very successful.

So I had something REAL that I could work with, and something that needed to be said. In my mind, I just HAD to create a happy ending in this caption, even if I couldn't solve my friends issue's nor the plight of the unfortunate children that live in poverty. I hope this caption isn't too hokey, as my intentions were to make something meaningful and inspiring, hopeful and spirited.

And to my dear friend, I do wish you'd have your own child some day. You'd be an awesome mother and I'd love to be the Godparent!

I think everyone knows how much I love the Monkees and I'm sure I posted this last year as well. It was done live in ONE take, a Capella, and is truly beautiful Spanish Villancico. Even they seem to recognize how special the performance is WHILE they are doing it (notice the smiles on Peter and Davy's face as they acknowledge Mickey's vocals.) Never given as much credit as they should as musicians, its another in a long line of reasons I think they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The song is about the nativity scene, and if you want, you can find the translation on Wikipedia.

I hope that every wish comes true for you and all your loved ones!

Please be safe when you are out and about today. The frenzied rush of the Holidays can make us all less observant and more negligent in our long term well being. Watch out for not just you, but the others that are celebrating. This time of year is for joyous reflection and the promise of a better tomorrow. The best way to do that is to celebrate with those that you love the most.

Why is this one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time? Well, its the arrangement, which was brilliantly done. I actually hate pretty much every version of Little Drummer Boy that I've ever heard, except for this one. To me, taking something I find unpalatable and polishing that turd up into something beautiful and moving is worthy of the top spot. Also, Bing was dying and Bowie was most likely strung out on heroin makes this performance all the more spectacular!

Now I'm off to watch my favorite Christmas movie .. DIE HARD!

Wrapping up Christmas with a big bow!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday celebration! We here at the Mentia household had a pretty good and busy time. We went to see the GF's relatives over the weekend and also went to a Yule party on Sunday. Then Tuesday we all exchanged gifts as our roomie was travelling on Christmas Eve to see her boyfriend's family. The rest of us visited friends at various locations in the area for Christmas Eve, and we got to see other friend's children open their gifts, which is always a treat. On Christmas Day, we went to my dad's side of the family and had lunch, then hung out at Dad's girlfriend's house for some "Christmas Story" viewing and other merriment.

Tomorrow is "Boxing Day" in Canada, and that saying made me hunt out potential pictures about an hour ago, thinking perhaps I could whip up a quickie. This photo gave me inspiration, and I'm hoping it's is not too lame, even as a quickie. I hope they put some breathing holes in those boxes! I am pretty sure the girl in the middle (probably named Leeanne!) was disappointed when she heard that her box was going to be filled with "Styrofoam Peanuts." She thought she heard something else!

We'll be wrapping up the Christmas season on this blog with the next post over the weekend, as we head towards a new year! Please read (or reread) the previous posts, especially if you haven't been online much recently. I think I created some really fun (and possibly touching) captions for you!

Love this song, and when I sang it live, it would absolutely KILL me. We would have to do it as the final song in the set, otherwise I was dead in the water. There was that ONE note that just sucked all the power from my vocal chords. Try it yourself, and you'll know exactly WHICH note it was!

I promise that THIS is the last Christmas-y caption you'll see this year!

Even though it's only the 3rd day of Christmas, everyone in the USA is truly burnt out from the Christmas season by now. Everyone has been spending their gift cards, and are gearing up for the end of one year and the beginning of the next. They've even stopped playing Christmas songs on the radio that seemed to have been there since before Thanksgiving!

Well, all except me, as I have one more caption that I haven't posted here yet. It was made for Desiree's caption contest, which netted me as caption per day in my folder for  twelve days! You can find the series in my trading folder if you'd like to see it.

Today will be a nice mellow one, at least I hope so. I am going to watch the last regular season game for the Patriots before they return to the playoffs again for what I want to be another return to the Super Bowl. Perhaps I will do a tad bit of cleaning, and maybe make some chili in the new crock pot I bought with Christmas money. My main goal is to not leave the apartment until work starts up again on Monday with another shortened week.

A reminder to everyone that we still have a DIY Challenge going on through New Years Eve which you can find up above in the LATEST DIY tab below my blog banner. I think I have two or three submissions right now so there is plenty of space to create your own. 'Normal' non-holiday Dee captions should start soon, because as of right now, I don't have any New Years Eve captions made yet. It probably depends on if I get the time. I have a few captions that are in the process of being finished up. Spare time in the Mentia household has been at a premium lately, trust me! A few minutes here and there have been all I can do!

You just KNEW I'd get to this song at some point, right?

It won't be the only thing slithering around!

Made this for Desiree after her Christmas Caption Contest, where she filled the trading folder of quite a few of us captioners on the Haven. Figured the least I could do is create one for her as a thank you.

For some reason, my brain created this story when I first saw the picture. I'm sure if you could figure out WHY it did, you'd have solved some of the deepest mysteries in the universe. Or perhaps, its just the way she's sitting. I think that whoever lives in or owns that abandoned cabin HAS to have a good maid to keep it from getting too dusty.

Welcome back to all those that went away for the Christmas week. I am noticing that the views are slowly rising again, and I've hit 120k again this month! Also, Cintia D. was our 3400th comment, so leave me your male/female name and some preferences for a reward caption. If you had/have a folder on the Haven, remind me and I can head there to see your preferences. I'll hopefully have something for you within the next week or two.

Dee's Top 10 (or so) Favorite Captions of 2014! Part One!

I almost posted Part Two first to fuck with your heads!

"Damn it Dee! I can't seem to find Part One anywhere!"

I wanted to go through all my captions that I made in 2014, and pick out my favorite TEN captions of the year, and possibly explain WHY I liked them so much. Time often gives us a bit of perspective and maybe a few fell between the cracks and I like them more now than when I made them. Others were favorites of mine from the get go! There are no captions from December 2014 as its too early for me to say if they were some of the best of the year. We shall see how my favorites lined up with yours! Let me know if I missed a really good one!

There is no particular order to these Top 10 since I'm just going to grab them as I go along.

When it comes to obliviousness, this caption pretty much takes the cake, eats it, and then bakes another one. Her dialog is what makes this a winner for me. I'm a big fan of guys who are on the cusp of being aware what happened, and confusing a mirror with a virtual reality screen is definitely not seeing the forest for the trees!

I like a good "programming" caption and this might be at the top of the list, due to how closely the picture and the story mesh with the caption setting. The zinger at the end ties it all up nicely.

One of the more touching and serios captions I made this year, and was specifically made for Easter morning. Who hasn't thought about abandoning their old life for something new and exciting? I wanted that theme of rebirth to color a caption that anyone could imagine themselves in. Was it a simple mistake, or something more involved? One of my favorite picture finds of the year!

I love a good "evil villain monologue" and this one wasn't too hard to write with a source photo this good. The fact that I tied it into the story in both the beginning and end also raises it up a notch.

The Iron Maiden fan in me loves this creation, something that I whipped up for one of the DIY Challenges. I think that every entry someone submitted was excellent, and it was my favorite DIY Challenge of the entire year. It is such a striking picture, and if you know of the epic poem, it fits in well with my literary acknowledgement. You don't often find Coleridge referenced in a TG caption.

This ends part one, but here are a few honorable mentions that are quite silly or bizarre, and who doesn't want to see THAT in a TG caption?!?

There will be a part 2 coming soon. I'm a bit predictable when it comes to that, eh?

It's just what you've been expecting!

It is one of my more subtle captions, with a good premise, and to really understand it, you might have to look into the background. I guess its odd to focus on something that isn't in focus when you've got something right up front to keep you distracted.

I wrote this one as detailed as I could, and really ran out of room. One of the few times I wish I had a set of pictures to use instead of just one panel. The story itself plays with contrasts and the photo is what drove the entire story.I might actually update my preferences on the Haven soon as the next sort of thing I would like to see more of .. focusing on switches of power, physical characteristics, social status, and family dynamic.

I like twists and turns, and this certainly is a fun one to create and read. Even looking at it now from a few months back, I am still entranced by her cleavage and eyes, giving you no where to look without being caught in her trap!

Seems like October was one of my best months! Using one of my favorite models ever always starts things off with a good slate, but this one stuck with me from the moment I put the words into the caption setting. I love the dialog between the two characters, and the story is pretty unique, plus I get to work in the Canada angle which is always fun. No credenza, but still a blast when I get to put in simple touches that make me giggle!

It was hard to come up with the last spot, and I didn't want to punk out and list another 3-5 captions, but here are two I really like due to the design itself. I do like the stories, but they way they look themselves put them on the list for me, whether or not people liked them.

And here are the Top Five captions in terms of page views (from five to one) One or two of these might have made my list, but no need to list them above and then down here as well!

Everyone needs to relax a bit and not stress out, don't you think?

Made this one for Karensue, and it might just be the last one I will create as a trade for someone in 2014. Its been a pretty solid year in captioning for me, and I'm looking forward to cranking out some more favorites for people in 2015 as well .. with all of you along for the ride with me!

This caption was inspired by my half-day of work today. I was doing what needed to be done, and around 11:30 AM, I realized that I didn't need to do anything more and whatever was left could be taken care of on Friday, so I vamoosed and closed down the office. The GF has to work until 9 PM tonight, unless her slave drivers let her leave early, but that didn't give us much of a chance to set up plans for going out, so we will probably head to a friend's house to watch the apple descend at midnight, and then head home a bit afterwards before all the drunken assholes get on the road.

I'd like to end this post, and the last post of 2014, with something that Helena wrote to me.
Over here we have a seasons greeting, "Zalig uiteinde" meaning as much as a blissful ending of the year, combined with a happy new year. I can't recall ever hearing or reading of a similar greeting in English, so to a good Dutch custom:
A blissful ending of the year, and a happy new year.
So to everyone out there reading this, please be safe tonight, and

Zalig uiteinde!

Make sure they get your good side, good side!

Well, offered this as an end of the year, easy peasy DIY Challenge, and four people responded!

The first one up is from Brittany7, who left it in my trading folder, which is always a good option when you want to make your own version. It's always safe there, and sometimes people will make comments on it. Just make sure that you label it a DIY in the header!

Nest up is an Anonymous poster, who didn't leave a name. Perhaps this person is named Carl? I had to squeeze in the text a bit, but I'm hoping that everyone can still read it!

Ian's was another long one, and it took me awhile to color each character so readers would be able to figure out who was talking. To recap, Ted is in white italics, The Old Year Spirit is in Pink, and the New Year Spirit is in blue. Hope that helps!

And lastly, right before the deadline, we have a submission from Helena. Another caption that evokes the spirit of the New Year. I wasn't planning on that being a theme, but when a few people bring it forward, people must be enjoying the theme of a new start.

I would like to thank EVERYONE that submitted a caption, a story for me to integrate into a caption setting, or gave a comment to those who have! I am glad that I am able to do this, and if it gets people interested in making their own captions, even better! I am definitely going to offer this again in 2015. Keep an eye out for the next one coming in a week or two.

I need to know a few more cuckolded sissies, pronto!

Well, it's true. Whenever I have a caption that involves sissies and their adventures with guys and possibly cuckolding, I know of only TWO sissies! Sure they get all the benefits, but aren't we all here to spread love wherever it needs to go? LOL

I've gotten a few referrals from their blog sites, so I can't complain, even though I'd love to see my membership rise a tad. I would hope that more straight TG captions and Sissy style caption fans would be able to coexist, but after all this time, I'm not sure. I don't see why I can't make both! Especially since I love making captions for friends, and Kaaren and Leeanne are incredibly sweet and sharing with their time and information, which I find fascinating to read about. I've always been taught to think about what it's like to be in someone else's shoes, and a mindset like theirs is just to juicy not to read about, even if its slightly uncomfortable.

When I saw this source photo, my thoughts were like this, "Nice legs on this girl who possibly could be a guy, perhaps I might be able to use .. holy fuck! What *IS* that abomination on the chair in the background!" At that point I just KNEW I had to make a caption with just that plot point. Once you spot it, you can't unsee it. Your eyes will just keep heading up towards that doll. Perhaps that is how Pam is controlling him and making Kaaren look like that, I don't really know.

And Kaaren, if you want me to change the male name to something else, let me know and I'll swap it in for the "Karl" I used. Being a sissy can mean attention to details and I wouldn't want to mess with that if it wasn't what you wanted.

See you in a day or two! Time to watch the Steelers/Ravens battle. Wild card weekend .. woo!

Controlled by the Purse Strings!

Its a lot more expensive to look like a woman!

Made this one for Sammie over the weekend, which was relatively productive captioning wise. This was my GF's weekend of work, so I had the place to myself for most of the day. I think I made a total of 6 captions, and a big bowl of Tuna Casserole, which still fits in with my mostly meat-free lifestyle. Not bad considering there were 4 NFL Wild Card games spread out over the weekend!

I saw the picture as I was browsing some sites on-line, and it was the purse that really drew me into the photo. I thought of a Steffi-Marie type set up with the model under a bit of coercion. I knew that bag wasn't cheap, well, at least if its a REAL tote, and not a bootleg. Hell, that would be a good follow up for Nate to find out he did all that and the purse wasn't worth shit! What would the wife think? For that matter, is the modeling for an on-line boutique? That'd mean his feminized face would be on the Internet forever!

Back to a normal work week FINALLY starting tomorrow, although even that will only be for the next two week since MLK Day is on the 19th. Hard to get momentum for a new year when we get all these false starts! Its a shame we can't save any of these for the middle or March when we could really use them! I'll be doing all the EOY stuff for the office with the annual reports coming out in a few weeks so I'll definitely be busy! See you in a day or two!

Reliving the Old Days!

The Golden Age of Video Vixens!

Made this quickie about an hour ago and figured I'd post it right away as its breezy and fun. I was looking for a picture to make caption for Jillisa, but I found this one and just had to make it. Don't fret, as I found one for her afterwards, and it'll be posted within a few days I think.

There is no real subtext here at all, everything is right on the surface. I'm guessing that this would be the best case scenario for most of us if our offspring found out about our fetishes and whatnot .. with a roll of the eyes and a "Oh Jeez, not again!" Why not embrace it with a caption? But of course!

I've got quite a few in the queue now so I won't have to rush to make new stuff, which does takes some pressure off and helps with creativity. Not everything is Grade A, but as they say in baseball, "if you don't get a hit every 6 and a half times out of 10, you're an all-time great hall of fame player!" Even the lesser captions should give people some joy or at least a chuckle, perhaps a distraction.

The video that made me say, "why couldn't they kidnap me from school and turn me into a hot slutty girl like they did to her?!" Such a modern day Cinderella story, isn't it?

Looking Outward by Focusing Inward

Its your voice .. choose to listen to it now and again.

Made this caption the other day for Jillisa. I tend to try to focus on newer captioners in the Haven, so that I can help them get acquainted, become familiar with protocols, and keep them from disappearing due to shyness or even paranoia that they are going to be discovered. I was that person once, and I made some long lasting friends by "getting along to get along" when I started (HELLO SIMONE!) and had feelings of inferiority amongst the other captioners that had been doing it for quite a while already at that point.

This year though, my resolution was to try to caption many of the long time captioners that have stayed around and consistently remained relevant in the Haven community. The caption for Sammie a few posts ago was the start of that, and I hope to continue through the first few months of this year.

Jillisa is one of those captioners. She's slowed down quite a bit, but its been due to work stress / job change and a move to another apartment among other things like health issues. She's always willing to help people though, through proofreading and just making comments on other's work.

I wanted to give her a positive caption for the beginning of the year so I hunted for a picture that would work until I found this one, and I knew I had my muse. The whole idea of furry Ugg boots and a sweatshirt, along with a mini skirt and tank top felt to me like what typifies a woman .. a walking contradiction. Most centered females will tell you straight up that even they can't understand themselves with any regularity. I figured, "why not bring that into a caption that will cement the changes in a way that the typical 'being trapped' scenario never would?" Something that goes beyond, "I've got tits now!" and ties in ideas of family support, sisterhood, and how to rectify a mind and intellect not quite tied into their current body image.

That's what I put into it, but if you didn't get that, I hope you still like it on a more superficial level. I know that when we look at TG material, sometimes the last thing you really want to do is "THINK!" about issues, your own or other people's. I bring this up because the last post was something totally escapist and had no subtext at all. Sometimes I can do that, but often there is a piece lying underneath the surface that can be broached .. and I am glad I have this blog as a resource to explore and poke about at those things that amuse/provoke/interest me and color the captions I create.

Of course, some of my favorite captions are ones that are just plain silly and bimbo like. I didn't say that I was above being a "Walking Contradiction" either!

Don't Fuck with the Bulls ..

.. unless you want to be gored by the horns! (read the caption first before reading the blog post.)

Made this one as a blog exclusive. Had the picture and the idea that came with it didn't really fit into something I'd want to create for a trade caption with anyone, even those who liked revenge stories.

A good friend of mine was a lot like me as a teen, which is when we met. We went to different high schools, but liked the same music and had the same sense of style .. Chuck Taylor sneakers (combat boots in winter) jeans, heavy metal T shirt, and very long hair with earrings. Other than the fact that I played sports (baseball and soccer) we were a lot alike.

The irony is though that I never quite got picked on in school (occasionally verbal) like he did; truthfully people were afraid of me because they thought I worshiped the devil, and I had done a few things that were 'scary'. He however, got picked on unmercifully, especially by the jocks. I never quite understood, especially since he was technically tougher than I was, as he'd taken karate as a child, and I was more of an insane street fighter. They'd call him a faggot, etc .. and start shit (irony alert II: I was considered much 'prettier' than him and I usually wasn't slandered in that way. "Satanist" was the big one towards me.). Even worse, he'd invariably win the fight, and then it'd be, "I'm going to kick your ass tomorrow faggot!" Rinse, wash, and repeat, day in and day out.

When the shit went down in Colorado at the end of the 1990's, we both understood exactly what had happened and the mentality that had caused it, both from the students AND the population at large. Its only recently come around that these sort of athletes are judged for what they are.. bullies that are enabled by others that will protect them when inevitably the shit hits the fan, though even today it takes a firestorm of controversy for victims to get justice (et al B. Cosby and J. Winston.)

That sort of thinking went into this caption, and since I didn't make it for anyone specific, I could go wherever I wanted with the plot. The photo was a great find, as its got that androgynous look, halfway between male and female. I assume its a female, but it can leave you guessing as there is limited breast development, hairless body, lack of muscle, no makeup and the pose itself lends an air of undefined gender. Finding pictures like these are like striking your own cache of gold.

If anyone here follows wrestling, the best "heels" aka the bad guy, are those who think they are justified in their viewpoints, and take measures to stop what they think is wrong. Often they are misguided, but there has to be a kernel of something to make them seem more human. In this caption, the antagonist certainly feels justified to act in this way, and I bet many people that read this blog all the time would agree. One man's "senseless vengeance" is another man's "just desserts" and there a perverse version of The Hero's Journey is a fun one to read. It certainly was cathartic to write!

The Wife Seems to be Getting Into It ...

.. so is that a good thing or not?!? (read it like you were writing the letter Z!)

Made this one today as I was looking through some pictures online. Was specifically thinking about captioning Lacy (Lacysliplover on the Haven) so anything with lingerie was on the table. I found this one and liked the fact that she was lying on her stomach, which gave me the idea that she was a little too aroused while wearing her outfit!

I was thinking about Leeanne describing the evolution of her cheerleader, and that gave me the idea for this caption. We often have the captions where the significant other either HATES the idea, or is totally GAGA and goes in full throttle. I'm guessing that in real life, its more of an indifference at best to start, and either it gets shut down or embraced as they realize its not the end of their marriage and the person inside is still the one they have loved all along.

I guess that this could fall into the "be careful what you wish for, you just MIGHT get it!" but I didn't want it to be a punishment of any sort. I am hoping that a playful nature was implied, though reading it again, I'm not sure there was enough dialog for it to come through. I'm hoping that Lacy's expression in the photo does wonders in selling the, "is she being serious or just flirtatious with me!" vibe I was going for. If you wish to read it as something more demanding, I don't mind at all, since we all tend to read things that make us comfortable. I was definitely going for a more "sex games" between a loving couple groove than what harshness Mistress Dementia could craft.

Let me know what you thought when you first read it. I won't mind if you tell me that I didn't convey what I wanted. Just because you are daft, doesn't mean I have to feel bad! Just kidding! LOL

I think the last caption scared a bunch of people. Didn't get any comments, though I did get a lot of views. Hopefully it didn't make people too uncomfortable, sort of like how THIS ONE did!

I know a bunch of people that are going to rush on over to the buffet table!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Watching the Seattle-Carolina game right now, and the Panthers are giving Seattle a tougher time than I thought they would (Scratch that! As I was posting this, the 'Hawks scored 2 touchdowns in like 3 minutes!) Of course, the Patriots came through, while still giving us fans a few panic attacks. Got another two great games on tap for Sunday, so this truly is the best weekend in the NFL, regardless of how the referees are calling it!

I made this one for Feargas, who likes pregnancy captions. I was looking through various sites looking for a good pregnant model and saw this picture. The setting made me think of, "Eating for two!" and then it was off to the races. The thing was though, I didn't have much to tie it together. The way I had it thought up was way too one note for my liking. I held on to it for a few days and ruminated on how to make it better. My new vehicle has a CD player, so I've been burning a ton of discs for the car, and one of them was a compilation of Faith No More songs, in anticipation of the first new music in over 15 years. They do a great job of covers, and "I Started a Joke" was playing in my head while I creating the CD. I thought that it'd make a great framing device, since the words in the verse invert themselves, and I think it really drives the narrative forward and ties it all into a bow.

I guess the lesson here is that if you aren't totally happy with a caption, sometimes sitting on it for a bit can help you in the long run. Worst case scenario is that it'll stay the same and they'll get it a few days after you created it. In my opinion, I am much happier with the final product now.

If you look to the left side, I've added a few TG Caption blogs to the 'Dee-generate Bloggers' listing and removed a few that have been shut down. I thought it was time to shake it up. If you think there should be a blog or two I've missed, let me know. I do want to mention that I liked a few I didn't add, because the captions were very "ONE HUGE PARAGRAPH" and that makes them hard to read. After browsing one or two, I had had enough. Just formatting them with breaks can make a difference, otherwise its a big glut of words and it can make it hard to focus.

Who doesn't love a good pun in the title? OK OK, put your hands down everyone!

Made this one for Stormy, as part of my resolution to make new captions for some of the long time members of the Haven that I haven't captioned for awhile. I really liked the picture when I found it, and wanted to make a caption so I made a setting and let it sit for a few moments while I puzzled with how to work with it. I knew it had to be a street setting, and that the blown kiss would have to factor in with the story line, but didn't have, "blow me a kiss, Sissy PERSON!" as I'd already done that, perhaps even more than once!

Well, what if the blown kiss set the transformational magic into effect? That would work, but who wants a caption where you don't see yourself being changed? VIOLA! She's "paying the magic forward!" or at the very least, scaring the hell out of the guy that was hitting on her. Once I had that worked out, it was off to the races, and did I have fun writing up the dialog? As Sarah Palin would say, "You Betcha!" I can pretty much hear Ashley talking with with a Brooklyn accent, both as a female and male and it's amusing to think that her dialog would come out of that beauty's mouth. God how I love making TG captions! If you can't have fun doing this, just give it up and walk away!

Back in a day or two with more stuff. Might even have the next DIY Challenge!

Who wants to be as fit as a fiddle? Are fiddles the epitome of healthiness?

Made this one the other day and unfortunately, it fits into something I heard about today. A friend of my daughter's was happy to have gotten a job .. but its for Vector Marketing .. aka cutco knives. her Facebook blew up with, "OMIGOD that is such a scam!" and "They fucked me over for a good amount of money!" etc .. but you know 20 year olds! I remember being interviewed by them like 20 years ago and its pretty much the same sales pitch and the same demographic.

When I finally got into the room, they told me the basic layout, and I was like, " Point A .. how many friends and family members do you think I have? Point B .. Do you think I want to take up their time trying to sell them knives they are perfectly capable of buying elsewhere? and they are all going to end up on a mass marketing mailing list, aren't they?" I'm not sure they had ever had a long haired guy show up and understand the scam so quickly (this was pre-internet for most people unless they had AOL but even then they were sort of well known as being a rip-off.) I got a vague, "Well if you work hard here, blah blah blah and I just said, "No thanks. This definitely isn't for me." and walked out. I hope she doesn't get too screwed.

Anyway, I created the caption as something I could use as a header for the next DIY Challenge. So it definitely wasn't for someone in particular, but more of a "it's New Year's so how long will it take for your resolution to fall apart?!" We all have the best intentions, right? So I just used that idea to make a cute little caption that hopefully gives people a chuckle.

So onward to the first DIY Challenge of 2015! It is hopefully not a hard one nor a layup, but something in between. Someone may have used this picture in a caption before, but it should be new to most of us! The deadline is January 31st at midnight PST.

This is the CD that I usually listen to while on the stationary bike part of my workout, before I work on specific target areas on the body. I usually do 20-25 minutes on the bike, so it synchs up with the first six songs. Hearing about all the different ways you can die can really get you to pump out that last mile! It definitely gets the heart rate going. Use it if you want! How many other cartoon bands get your aggression out like Dethklok?!?

Elise and Bobbi Crash the Sorority Party!

.. or does the party crash them?

Made this caption for Pantyhosegurl, with an assist to Elise, as she was comment #3475, which was the next comment reward # so I figured she'd fit in well with this idea I had. I know its a standard picture, and perhaps others have even used it before, but when I saw it, I noticed the lack of touching in the groin area .. almost like a, "leave room for the Holy Ghost" type of dance pose.

I wondered why they would hug like that, other than the obvious thought that they were touching each other's asses. Women are usually good huggers, giving a good effort, especially to those they know really well. the plot came out of that question, and how I would answer it. From there it took off a bit, and perhaps went bounding way beyond where I started. I could have written a few more paragraphs easily, but started running out of space towards the end, so I had to consolidate a few ideas into one. Am I completely happy with this one? Nah. I love the middle section the most, though perhaps I'm giving the whole caption short shrift, since its already gotten 3 comments on the Haven.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How would YOU rewrite this caption? Lets say the caption ended without the last 2 paragraphs. How would YOU finish it up? If it sounds good, perhaps I'll post the results here in the post itself. I have no problem with remixing this with another collaborator. Or just leave a comment on whether you like it as it is already.

Changing The Family Dynamic .. With Beats by Dee!

It's that ONE letter that makes ALL the difference!

Made this one for Annebelle Raven, over at Annabelle's Family Tradition, mostly because I hadn't seen her trade captions in quite some time and also because doing her sort of caption occasionally can be a lot of fun! The picture gave me the vibe that much of Annebelle's captions do, so I had a good idea of what I wanted to do.

I knew I wanted them to be competitive, as siblings and especially brothers, can be and I wanted that to be the driving force behind their change. I remembered a friend of mine describing past Christmases about how their twins would fight over who got what toys unless they got the exact same thing, and I used that in the caption as another sign of them competing all the time.

I have used the "Beats by Dee" thing before, in THIS caption, and even the cheapest sets of the real headphones are like 150 bucks on Amazon, and those are for discontinued versions! I just like the idea of headphones that can change their listeners subliminally and that they are named after me!

Something that really tied the story together nicely, and wan't added until the last moment, was the addition of the Dad into the caption. at the end, I was writing up the Girl's Night In segment, and I thought that it'd be nice to have a male authority figure changed as well, since Abigail was sick of all that testosterone causing issues in her happy home. Annabelle often has multiple generations swapped into girlhood, so why not here? I wrote up the last paragraph and all it took was to add one line to the end of the first paragraph and we had closure! I probably could have punctuated it a bit better to stress the "Girl's Night In" part, but oh well, I am happy the whole family is female now!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend .. mine will be spent moving the daughter back in for college, dismantling my man cave and turning it back into her old room, and watching the NFL Conference Championship games .. GO PATS! I don't think they could be the Seahawks but seeing the Pats in the Super Bowl again would make me smile from ear to ear. Let Peyton Manning have his commercials .. Tom Bray prefers to PLAY on Super Bowl Sunday rather than just being in the advertisements! Tom is the second best quarterback ever behind Joe Montana. GO PATS!

Here is where I got the name for the mother in the caption. It's a great concept album from King Diamond released in 1987 or so. If you wish to just hear the song, "Abigail" listen to the song clip below, which is a cover by a bunch of heavy metal legends, with Ripper Owens on vocals.

Before I was anything else musically, I was a big metalhead! If it's too loud . you're too old!
